Hi, I’m Gemma.
I’m a mum of 2, and I’ve worked in finance for more than a decade. In that time I’ve sat with thousands of teenagers about to start their first job who don’t know where to begin with money.
And it’s not their fault. They need a chance to learn and practise before that first pay lands.
I wanted that for my kids. Preferably without another “Mum says this is important” lecture… insert eye roll.
So I built a game. With my kids helping tell me what would actually be fun. What would they enjoy? What would they want to come back to?
That became Peblet World: a quiet game for downtime where children can earn pretend money, choose what to spend, save for something they want and help their neighbours along the way.
For me, it’s about money skills, but also patience, making choices and looking after each other. Things I want my kids to have a chance to practise as they grow.
I’m still listening and learning as we build this. If you’re a parent or teacher, I’d love you to come along for the journey.
From my family to yours,
Gemma ♡
